As an IT professional you know the certainty of change and the reality of doing more with less. It is likely you need to influence others to get things done, whether you are in a formal leadership role or not. Maybe you do not think of yourself as a leader or even that you want to be a
leader--whatever that means.
Transformational leadership is about a willingness to take risks and chart a path of success. It means arousing emotions, nurturing relationships, and being open to changing mindsets and behaviors. Leadership in times of significant change requires personal reliance and self and social awareness to inspire action toward a destination that is not known. Transformation leadership is about knowing yourself and your capacity for change before you can lead and inspire others to change. Please join us on Tuesday evening, May 16, as Barbara Timony from AstraZeneca teaches us what it takes to be a transformational leader and guides us through the process of discovery.
Barbara C. Timony is responsible for designing global strategies, competency models, and training plans as Competency Development Leader at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. She is also an adjunct professor and core faculty in the Master’s Degree program in Strategic Leadership at Neumann College in Aston, Pennsylvania. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Barbara brought her extensive experience in training, team and leadership development, organizational design, large-scale change management, and executive coaching to aerospace, financial services, and health care settings. Barbara speaks frequently on career development, job search, and leadership topics in the Greater Delaware Valley. |
