NWCT turns 40 this year and you are invited to meet the founding women who made it happen! The panelists will discuss the history of NWCT and how it has evolved and impacted their lives over the last 40 years. These dynamic women will share stories about what it was like to pioneer in the male dominated technology industry and their careers that followed.
Grace Schuler founded her IT recruiting firm, Schuler Consultants, Inc., 33 years ago, after spending 18 years in application development. Throughout her career she has been involved with various IT professional associations, and she has an unequaled personal network in the Philadelphia IT industry, and an in-depth understanding of business and technology. In addition to recruiting, Grace has conducted outplacement workshops and provided executive coaching, and she has studied Macrobiotics and Strengthening Health. She has a B.A. in Accounting from Muhlenberg College.
Grace has been an active member of NWCT ever since it was founded, and she co-led the Program Committee for over 10 years. She is also a member of the Society of Information Management (SIM), where she was Chair of the Program Committee for the last 6 years. She also serves on SIM’s Membership Committee. Grace is also a member of the National Recruiting Association (NPA), a worldwide recruiting network. Schuler Consultants, Inc. has on-going searches for all levels in IT.
Rona Cohen is a consultant specializing in management consulting focusing on marketing and startup infrastructure strategy for Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, and Information Technology based companies. Ms. Cohen has her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and a MBA in Marketing from Drexel University (1980). She has been an Adjunct Professor at the MBA Program at Penn State University. Her career began as an Information Scientist for such companies as the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), and Shell Oil Company. Ms. Cohen has provided technology and organizational consulting services to such companies as Living Social, DuPont, Astra Merck, Merck & Co., Wyeth Ayerst, Bell Atlantic, USAIR, Oracle, Unisys, General Electric, Gemplus (French based SmartCard Manufacturer and Integrator), and FMC Corporation. Ms. Cohen is a past president of the Network of Women in Computer Technology and has served on their board for over five years.
Peggy Pacella is the President and CEO of M.A.P. Consulting Services, Inc. (dba MAP Technology Solutions). Peggy is a highly skilled, collaborative technology expert with over 20 years of experience providing top-notch IT consulting and hands-on support to her clients – across section of industries in the US mid-Atlantic region, including Manufacturing, Distribution, Insurance, Banking, Logistics, and Wine and Spirits.
Your Moderator for the Evening:
Marianna Kind is a Director of Data Architecture. She has been with NWCT for over five years.
Marianna’s hobbies include oil painting, world traveling, yoga, quantum physics, human design and learning ancient philosophies.
Her second Master’s Degree in Computer Science was based on the programming explanation and web client/server set of applications of ancient philosophy Feng Shui.
Having two advanced Toastmasters Awards and the three years of leadership as the Comcast HQ club President, allowed Marianna to be elected as an Aria Director of Toastmasters International District. In 2018, she received Distinguished Toastmasters Award (DTM), which is the highest Toastmasters International Club honor. After traveling to over 70 countries, Marianna plans to visit six more in 2019. She speaks three languages and is learning Spanish.
